The bandmembers play at a march at St. Patrick\'s Home at 2865 Riverside Drive.

11/6/2010 7:00 PM Brigadoons Concert

The band performs in support of their benefactors The Sons of Scotland at the Centrepointe Theatre in Nepean along with the Rosemary Bremen Dancers and the Brigadoons.  The concert supports the Alzheimer Society - tickets available through the Centrepointe Box Office.

11/21/2010 1:00 PM Scotland Tonight

The band is proud to present its 9th annual \'Scotland Tonight\' concert at the Bronson Centre from 2 to 4:30 pm - check back for updates on participants and tickets.

12/11/2010 5:00 PM St. Andrew's Day Celeidh

The band\'s 7th annual dinner and dance with music, silent auction, cash bar, dancing, and much more!  Tickets are limited and group tables can be reserved by emailing sospb@sospb.com at anytime.

PAST EVENTS OF NOTE

New York City Tartan Week Parades, 2006 & 2007.
CBGB Performance, NYC April 6, 2006.  First and only pipe band to play at the legendary rock club.
The band has shared the stage with such bands as Rawlins Cross, the Alexander Brothers, John McDermott, 
Big Jeezus Truck, Great Scott , The Brigadoons, and The Rookers.

Overseas venues the band have played at include the Palace of HolyroodHouse, Balmoral Castle, Blair Atholl, Stirling Castle, the Royal Mile, Caledonian Brewery of Edinburgh, Glasgow's George Square, Culloden Battlefield, Loch Ness, Belfast City Hall, and Edinburgh Castle.


Ottawa Sports Teams

The Sons are proud to be affiliated with the Fat Cats Baseball Team and the Ottawa Fury Soccer Club.

ANNUAL EVENTS ~ 2010

The Sons of Scotland hold yearly annual events to help bring music and good fellowship to the community. 

National Tartan Day - held on April 11 on Parliament Hill to mark Tartan Day which is recognized all around the world.  This year the Sons were joined by special guest pipers from other pipe bands, the Ar Oran Gaelic Choir performed, and dance demonstrations from the Ingleneuk Scottish Country Dancers, MacCulloch Dancers and highland dancers from across the region took part in a massed fling.  The show began at 12 noon on the front steps of the Hill and we had 69 tartans on display.  Next year's performance will take place on Sunday, April 17. Come join us, and wear your tartans to mark this wonderful occasion!

 


 
 B In The Park  - an outdoor pipe band concert held in Confederation Park, downtown Ottawa on the Thursday night prior to the Glengarry Games with guest bands from out of town. 
The date of the show for 2011 will be July 28.  Be sure to check back for band updates!
Past participants have included Windsor Police, the LA Scots, St. Andrew's Society of Winnipeg Pipe Band, Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band, McNaughton Highlanders, St. Patricks' Battalion of Mexico, and the Massed Pipes and Drums of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Scotland Tonight - a fall fundraising showcase of various Celtic groups including singers, dancers, pipes and drums and so much more; a great family night out!  Held on Sunday, November 21 at the Bronson Centre, this afternoon matinee show is a wonderful afternoon of entertainment for all.
Confirmed participants include The Sons of Scotland Pipe Bands - grades 4 and 5, Mac An Alba, the Ottawa Youth Harp Ensemble, Gaelic Choir Ar Oran, Gaelic singer Cathy Ann MacPhee and more! MC Kurt Stoodley joins us for an afternoon of Celtic Excellence and fun!

St. Andrew's Day Celeidh - held on Saturday, December 11, this is a grand celeidh with dinner, silent auction, cash bar, and prizes along with piping and drumming dancing and lots more, held at the Sons practice hall, St. Matthias Anglican Church in Ottawa.
