We always welcome new members. If you are looking for a serious-minded competition band or a busy parade/concert band, then you'll feel at home with us.

The Sons of Scotland is also committed to teaching serious beginners on pipes or drums. All beginners are encouraged to seek out private lessons. Summer sessions starting now -- 2 new Ottawa locations of the Ottawa City Piping College in the west end on Tuesday evenings at the Bells Corners Legion at 4026 Richmond Road and Sundays in the east end at the Scottish and Irish Store at 1713 St.Laurent Boulevard. The Sons of Scotland are proud to be the official pipe band of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club.

Practices are held on Monday nights from 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. at St. Matthias Anglican Church,  555 Parkdale Avenue at the Queensway.

Full Band practice is held Mondays with chanter and drum pad practice from 7-7:30, pipes and drums at 7:30 until 9 pm. Beginner drumming class runs from 6:30 to 7:15, and bagpipe maintenance help is available from 6:30 to 7:00 pm.

In the spring we have a competition band practice on Thursdays as well, Grade 5 band from 6:30-7:30, Grade 4 from 7:30-8:30 pm.
