royal canadian legion
100th anniversary

Picture
The Royal Canadian Legion in Canada has such an important place in our history and our communities, and 2026 is a very special year.  In addition to their 100th anniversary, you will be able to join us in marking this special year with a unique opportunity in your own region.
We invite all pipers and drummers to help us connect and celebrate with their Legion and be part of the '100 Pipers Project'

Starting February 16, the 100 Pipers Project encourages pipers and drummers from all across Canada to set up a show at their local Legion, and register their performance here.
There are 1350 Legions across our great nation, and we are looking for players to play at 100 of them, be it solo players to full bands, and set up a performance with their local branch.  One performance per Legion, and you can play at as many as you wish.
Reach out, get in, and send us your name, Legion branch number, the date of performance - it can be in the future -  and a photo of yourself there.
For help finding a Legion, visit www.legion.ca  and look up 'Find a Branch'

Complete this contact form and we'll post the players and their photos here as they come in.

in your community

Volunteerism is one of The Royal Canadian Legion’s core activities. At its heart, the Legion is a grassroots organization that has its greatest impact through volunteer, community-based activities. Legion members comprise one of the largest volunteer bases in the country, committing millions of volunteer hours each year.
Through its local Branches and members, the Legion raises funds and supports essential services for those in need, and responds to the unique needs of their community. Our work at the community level includes outreach and assistance programs for Veterans and their families, fundraising to support essential community services, offering supports for seniors and families in need, organizing commemorative ceremonies and promoting Remembrance, and more. In times of local or regional crisis, Legion Branches and Legionnaires are there to support those who have been adversely affected by an emergency.
There are many ways to get involved and have a direct impact on your community. Contact your local Branch to find out more.

legion history

Founded in 1925 at the Unity Conference, the Legion began with a clear mission — to support Veterans, advocate for their rights, and ensure the act Remembrance continues. On July 17, 1926, the Legion was officially incorporated by a special Act of Parliament, now recognized as our anniversary.
