the queen's memorial pipe band performance and corgi walk
In honour of the sad passing of Her Majesty The Queen, we assembled the corgis and did a show in Major's Hill Park. Despite the rain, we all had fun and did a great job and paid respect to Her Majesty in a sweet and thoughtful way. Enjoy these lovely memories.
our royal performances
It has been asked many times how the pipe band has secured the opportunities to play for Her Majesty The Queen at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, and the answer is both simple and kind. Our Pipe Major is not afraid to ask for this honor, and she recognizes how important this is for so many people, and that an afternoon at that magnificent Castle is a highlight for us all - and Her Majesty is both generous and thoughtful with her time and her staff's support in planning this wonderful opportunity goes beyond all expectations. Every trip is different, and they are all so special.
We were honoured to have been the last pipe band to perform for Her Majesty The Queen at Balmoral Castle on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. Along with our dancers and guest pipers and drummers, and singer Michaela Foster Marsh, it was truly a day to remember.
It is so sombre that our performance was the last we would have for Her Majesty. We are so grateful to have had this wonderful opportunity, and we hope she enjoyed the concert as much as we did. Such pride, so much song and dance, and we all are better off for being there. God Save.

The Royal Visit to Canada, 2011
On June 30, the band had the wonderful opportunity to perform at Rideau Hall for the first visit to Canada by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. They played for the youth bbq in the gardens, and afterwards Pipe Major Bethany Bisaillion and piper Madeleine Thompson presented gifts handmade by Ms. Thompson to the Royal couple. They were delighted with the wonderful, thoughtful waistcoat and fascinator adorned with the Maple leaf tartan, as were the other guests - His Excellency Governor General David Johnston and his wife, and Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his wife. It was a wonderful occasion for many members of the pipe band and one they'll always remember..
St. Andrew's Courtship
Pipe Major Bethany Bisaillion had the opportunity to compose a tune for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for their visit to Canada. In collaboration with her brother Lochie, they wrote a 2/4 hornpipe titled 'St. Andrew's Courtship' which the couple liked very much.
It was a great honour for her to play the tune for them, and to present it to them afterwards. Here is the link to the CPAC site, and watch at 10:00 minutes in to hear the tune mentioned, and the reaction by the Duchess of Cambridge. Lovely!! Download the Video

we performed for her majesty the queen at balmoral castle in scotland on august 17, 2022 for our fifth performance for her majesty. It was to be our last show for her, and we are so moved that Her majesty allowed us her precious time on that day.
we are honoured to have this wonderful oppportunity and have put together a great slideshow of our trip.
our video below is our show, a very special opportunity for us all.
the passing of her majesty
The very sad news came to be that Her Majesty The Queen had passed away on September 8, 2023. We had played for her just 3 weeks earlier, at a very special concert at Balmoral Castle with so many special friends and guests. In Ottawa, we wanted to mark this solemn occasion, and invited some friends to join us in Major's Hill Park to do a parade in honour of Her Majesty. The corgis were a true highlight, and they braved the rain and more to help us mark this day.
Please enjoy this video of our day.
