An expression of interest from the Invictus Games Canada has also come our way to support the 2025 games to be held in Vancouver and Whistler, BC. They will take place February 6 to 17, 2025, and our performance at the opening ceremonies will take place on Saturday, February 8 at 2 pm. The performance will be televised, and the performance requirements are classic for both pipers and drummers - Scotland the Brave and The Rowan Tree. Settings for pipes, snares and tenors are on the following page - get in touch for the password page.
We are so pleased to be part of the 360 member pipe band initiative and are working with the Delta Police Pipe Band and the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band on this concert. Visit the games page here. Registration is now closed, and we thank everyone for signing up.
We have secured affordable accommodations in downtown Vancouver and all participants will be responsible for paying for their rooms and booking their own flights to Vancouver. We will work on fundraising to help pay for coach and other costs. The secure members page now has a list of interested and confirmed attendees that will help with room share planning in the next email you will see. Please give the list a look. Please note that check in times at the hotel are 3 pm and check out is at 11 am.
They can store luggage as well. Note that the rooms have only Queen size beds. As in all hotels, you will need a credit card at check in.
We want to share this video of our friend James Gendron, one of Team Canada's finest members, and their team piper, who will be joining us this year in the band.
There is merchandise on sale now on the Invictus site - visit their online shop here
We travelled to Europe in September, 2023 to play at the Invictus Games and more. We were able to visit Berlin, Dusseldorf, Ypres and Amsterdam, with lots of interesting and fun performance opportunities throughout. So successful and fun, in fact, that we will be performing at Invictus Canada in 2025. A select group of musicians will be traveling with the band, and PM Bisaillion will compile the list of attendees.
